Apollo: Carrying a three-person crew of Neil Armstrong, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, and Michael Collins, the Apollo 11's Command Module capsule (named "Columbia") served as living quarters for the astronauts during its historic 1969 lunar landing mission. It was one of three parts of the complete Apollo spacecraft, along with the Service Module containing the propulsion system, and the Lunar Module (nicknamed, "Eagle") that descended upon the moon's service. The Command Module was the only portion of the spacecraft that returned to earth.
